This part of the Terms of Use is specific to members.

1. Information about, the University of Warwick and using this website

1.1 The University of Warwick (‘we’, ‘us’) welcomes you to (our “Website”), on which we facilitate the study of ancient civilisations and their connections where users can set up a account, (the “ Service”).

1.2 This page tells you how you can set-up a account to use the Service (the “Terms of Use”). Please read these Terms of Use carefully before you set-up a account, as once you set-up a account and use the Service you indicate that you accept these Terms of Use and agree to abide by them. If you do not agree to this, please do not set up a account

1.4 We process information about you in accordance with our Privacy Policy. By using our Website and/or a account, you consent to such processing and you warrant that all data provided by you is accurate.

2. Account SET UP

2.1 If you set up an account to use the Service, you are warranting that you are a bona fide user.

2.2 When setting up an account, you will be asked to provide a minimum amount of information before you can start using the Service. This will always include your name, e-mail address and password.

2.3 Information provided on account set-up may be assessed by a administrator and/or additional information or actions may be requested by us, before an account is activated and can be used. Following any assessment or requests for additional information or action, we reserve the right to refuse, at our sole discretion, any account request.

2.4 If an account request is refused the refused applicant may not use an account or the Service and should contact the person outlined in sub clause 7.1 if they have any questions regarding their refusal.

2.5 When an account request is accepted, you will be given a password, user name and/or other security information in order to access your account.

2.6 We may disable any user name, password or account you have been given for any purpose, at any time if you have failed to comply with these Terms of Use or our General Website Terms and Conditions.

2.7 If you know or suspect that anyone other than you knows your user name, password or any other piece of security information, you must promptly notify

3.1 When using the Service you will:

3.1.1 use your account in a professional manner;

3.1.2 treat other users of the Service with respect;

3.1.3 treat any user name, password or any other security information you are provided with as confidential; and

3.1.4 ensure that any information or material you contribute to your account is accurate and updated as necessary.

3.2 When using the Service you will not:

3.2.1 attempt to gain unauthorised access to any other users account;

3.2.2 disclose your user name, password or any other piece of information as part of our security procedures to any third party or allow any-one else to use your account;

3.2.3 maintain more than one account at a time or create any spurious accounts;

3.2.4 submit any information to your account that is in breach of the content standards laid out in clause 5 of our General Website Terms and Conditions; or

3.2.5 carry out any of the prohibited uses in clause 8 of our General Website Terms and Conditions.

3.3 Your use of the Service may be subject to other guidelines that we issue from time to time. We will inform you when any such guidelines are published and how you can get access to them.

4. Our liability

4.1 We are not responsible for any content posted on any account by any account holder and the views expressed are theirs and not those of the University of Warwick.

4.2 We exclude all liability and responsibility for any amount or kind of loss or damage (including any indirect, special or consequential losses or any loss of profits, revenue, contracts, data or goodwill) that may result to you or a third party (whether in contract, tort (including negligence) or otherwise) arising from your use of the Service or any content on any account or any websites linked to any account, subject to sub clauses 4.4 and 4.5.

4.3 The content we provide as part of the Service is provided on an ‘as is’ basis without any guarantees as to its accuracy and to the extent permitted by law, and subject to sub clause 4.4, we exclude all representations and warranties (whether express or implied by law).

4.4 The Terms of Use do not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

4.5 Nothing in the Terms of Use limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence or our liability for fraudulent misrepresentation or misrepresentation as to a fundamental matter, nor for any other matter for which it would be illegal for us to limit, exclude or attempt to limit or exclude our liability.

4.6 You will indemnify us for any amount or kind of loss or damage (including any indirect, special or consequential losses or any loss of profits, revenue, contracts, data or goodwill) that may result to us or a third party (whether in contract, tort (including negligence) or otherwise) from your failure to comply with the Terms of Use.

5. Suspension and Termination

5.1 A breach of these Terms of Use could lead to a temporary suspension or permanent closure of your account or any other such action as we deem appropriate in accordance with clause 11 of the General Website Terms and Conditions.

6. Changes

6.1 We may revise these Terms of Use at any time by amending this page.

You should check this page from time to time to take notice of any changes we have made, as they are binding on you.
